Native American Volunteer Opportunity for Assignments in Asia

My name is Tina Larson, a recruiter with the Intertribal Agriculture Council (IAC).  We are currently working with Winrock International to field volunteers under the Farmer-to-Farmer (FTF) Program, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.  The FTF program sends U.S. volunteers to Asia on short-term technical assistance assignments.   This would be an awesome opportunity for Native Americans and non Native Americans to travel and share their expertise in Agriculture.

We have many different assignments available and would appreciate any interest in this program..

We currently have a honey bee diseases and pest management assignment that is available as well as a sugar processing SOW, marketing/sales scope of work and two rice seed production assignments.

If you are interested in volunteering I can also find an assignment that would suit your expertise and experience.

Our volunteers donate their time and expertise and our program covers the costs and makes all necessary arrangements.  Covered expenses include passport, visa, airfare, lodging, daily perdiem for meals and incidental expenses, and required immunizations.  Our U.S. based staff take care of all of your travel arrangements, and our field staff in the host country provide in-country logistical support and act as a liaison between the volunteer and the host organization.  We also provide interpreters when necessary.

To learn more about Winrock's volunteer programs you can check out www.winrock.org/volunteer.  Also visit www.indianaglink.com for information about the Intertribal Agriculture Council.

Perhaps you (or someone at your organization) would be interested in learning more about such an opportunity.  If you are not interested, I would welcome any recommendations for potential contacts that you could make.  I thank you for your time and consideration.
